The MIDO 2024, set to be held from February 3 to 5 at Fiera Milano Rho, is shaping up to be a significant event in the eyewear industry. This 52nd edition of the show is expected to feature about 1200 exhibitors from more than 45 countries, encompassing a wide range of eyewear brands, lens and contact lens manufacturers, as well as companies dealing with materials, technology, and machinery related to optics.
The event will spread across 7 pavilions with 8 extensive exhibition areas, offering a comprehensive program of events, workshops, seminars, and talks. Special focus areas include the Academy, which showcases a curated selection of international independent brands, and a Start-Up area hosting emerging players in the eyewear, optical products, and accessories segments.
A notable aspect of MIDO 2024 is its emphasis on sustainability, women in leadership roles, and future technologies. The show's president, Giovanni Vitaloni, has indicated that there will be a significant increase in the number of visitors and exhibitors compared to the previous year. MIDO 2024 aims to return to pre-COVID attendance numbers and will include a range of cultural activities to inspire opticians and manufacturers.
The show's marketing campaign, "SPHERES – THE EYEWEAR UNIVERSE," combines human creativity with the innovative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This theme will be explored further in the OTTICLUB area, dedicated to training and information for industry operators, where there will be numerous seminars, workshops, presentations, and conferences with leading speakers.
Awards such as BeStore, Stand Up for Green, and CSE – Certified Sustainable Eyewear, will also be featured, recognizing excellence in design, sustainability, and environmentally friendly eyewear products.
MIDO 2024's digital presence has been enhanced with a new website that focuses on digital accessibility and inclusion, in line with the upcoming European Accessibility Act. The website is designed to be user-friendly and accessible to a broad range of visitors, including those with disabilities, offering more than 100 features for a customized browsing experience.
This event promises to be a hub for the latest trends, innovations, and discussions on the future of the eyewear industry.
